It is important to understand the concept of cybersecurity because it encompasses everything that pertains to protecting our sensitive data, personally identifiable information (PII), protected health information (PHI), personal information, intellectual property, data, and governmental and industry information systems from theft and damage attempted by criminals and adversaries. In this chapter, we went through the triangle or the “CIA” of security, in which we would achieve cybersecurity if we maintain and apply the elements of the security triangle. We also went through an example to have a better understanding of security triangle.
